An entry requirement to the Master in Statistics programme is a university degree (Hochschulabschluss) with a quantitative focus, for example, in economics, social sciences, industrial engineering, mathematics, including financial and business economics or physics. In particular, a minimum of 30 credit points (ECTS) need to have been acquired in mathematics (analysis and linear algebra), theory of probability, statistics, econometrics or in comparable training during undergraduate studies (Erststudium). This is a compulsory requirement in the admission process. Another compulsory requirement is German and English language knowledge (both at least to level B1). Details are governed by the programme-specific admission rules (German: Fachspezifische Zugangs- und Zulassungsregeln des Master Statistik).
The application phase for Winter Semester 2024/25 starts on 2 May 2024 and ends on 31 May 2024. Please refer to the “Academic calendars and deadlines” page of the HU.
Applications are processed exclusively by the admission office (Studierendenservice) at HU-Berlin. Further information about the documents required (transcripts etc.) is available on their website. Questions concerning the admissions process should be directed to the Studierendenservice.
Successful applicants will receive an individualized notification stating to which of the three universities (HU, FU, or TU) they should enroll in. After successful enrollment at the assigned university, students are required to apply for registration at the two other participating universities. The relevant information will be made available to the applicants in the course of the application process via the admissions portal. Note that the general entrance and permission statute of the HU (German: Fächerübergreifende Satzung zur Regelung von Zulassung, Studium und Prüfung der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (ZSP-HU)) is the authoritative version, irrespective of which university students are enrolled in.
